The Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched several schemes and initiatives to support agriculture and farmers in the state. Here are some notable plans:
Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme:
The scheme was launched in the Rabi season of 2018.
Under this plan Small and marginal farmers are provided financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 will be provided in three instalments.
It aims to provide income support to farmers and improve their livelihood.
Fragmented land holdings:
One of the important challenges in UP agriculture is fragmentation of land holdings.
Most of the farmers have small and fragmented land, making it difficult to adopt modern farming practices, mechanization and economies of scale.
This leads to low productivity and inefficiency in farming operations.
Average agricultural holding size in Uttar Pradesh is 0.9 hectares.

किसान सम्मान निधि योजना:
इस योजना की शुरुआत वर्ष 2018 के रबी सीजन में की गई थी।
इस योजना के तहत छोटे और सीमांत किसानों को रुपये की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाती है। तीन किश्तों में 6,000 रुपये प्रदान किया जाएगा ।
इसका उद्देश्य किसानों को आय सहायता प्रदान करना और उनकी आजीविका में सुधार करना है।
